Firstly, you need to be very clear for which Platform you are going to design an app i.e. Android or iOS. If you are working on an Android platform, you must be very clear about resolutions and dpi. Android based devices have more resolution and dpi than iOS. You need to be very careful about your design because a developer can be asked for any font size, any image, any icon to support a particular resolution and dpi. In your app, everything should be self explanatory and in a friendly language because these factors are also crucial while designing an app. If your app is easy for a user to learn and quick to use, it will take a great place in the market. You have to think from a user’s perspective and take your time to show the right information at the right place. Every design has its own challenges. You also have to follow the latest trends, guidelines and goals.

Mobile apps are focused on specific tasks. So, you should be able to describe what your app does. The user should be able to launch the app, get his work done without facing any problem.
